CentBase shows no ads and sells no data. You do not need an account.
Local-first by design
Your budget data is stored in a local database on your device. We do not upload it, and we do not store it on our servers. That includes:
- Budgets, months, envelopes, sub-envelopes, and allocations
- Accounts, balances, and transactions
- Tags, payees, items, notes, and statuses
- Attachments you add
- Smart Capture suggestions and their snippets
If you export a CSV or a full backup, the file goes where you send it. A full backup can include attachments. We are not part of that transfer.
What Firebase receives
CentBase uses Firebase, a Google service, for analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring, and remote configuration. None of these receive your budget entries.
Analytics
We log app events such as a budget being created, a transaction being saved, or the paywall being opened. An event carries its name and simple values such as the transaction type, the budget currency, a count, or the subscription tier. It does not carry amounts, names, notes, or account numbers.
Firebase also receives an app instance identifier and device and app details such as model, OS version, and app version. We use this to understand which features are used and how the app performs.
Analytics is on by default. Uninstalling the app stops collection from that installation. To delete data already collected, see Data deletion.
Crash reports
If the app crashes, Crashlytics receives the error and stack trace, the app version, and device details such as model and OS version. We use it to find and fix the crash. We do not attach your budget entries to crash reports.
Performance monitoring
Firebase Performance records timings such as startup, screen rendering, and network requests. It does not read your data.
Remote Config
CentBase fetches feature flags and limits. The request does not read your budget.
Google processes this data for us under the Firebase terms and Google's Privacy Policy. We do not sell it, rent it, or use it for advertising.
Smart Capture
Smart Capture is off until you enable it and grant Notification Access in Android settings.
- It reads notifications only from apps you choose.
- Parsing happens on your device.
- The app stores a short snippet with codes, links, phone numbers, and card numbers removed. It keeps that snippet for 7 days so you can recognize the alert.
- Notification content never leaves your device.
- Turning Smart Capture off, or revoking Notification Access, stops collection. You can dismiss or delete existing suggestions.
Payments
Subscriptions are processed by Google Play. CentBase receives the purchase result, not your card details, and stores your plan on your device.
Permissions
- Internet: Firebase, update checks, and help links.
- Notifications: local reminders you schedule.
- Alarms and reminders: exact delivery of those reminders.
- Vibration: haptic feedback.
- Notification access: Smart Capture, only when you turn it on.
CentBase does not request your contacts, location, microphone, or SMS. The photo picker gives the app only the item you choose.
Support and deletion requests
If you email us, we receive your email address and message. If you submit the data removal form linked from Data deletion, we receive the email address you enter. We use both only to handle your request.
Your choices
- Delete local data: uninstall the app to remove everything, or delete a budget in More then Budgets to remove that budget.
- Export: create a CSV of transactions or a full
.centbasebackup at any time. - Stop analytics: uninstall the app. To delete data already collected, use the data removal form on the Data deletion page.
- Smart Capture: turn it off in Settings, or revoke Notification Access in Android settings.
- Notifications: turn them off in the app or in Android settings.
Data retention
Local data stays until you delete it. Firebase Analytics follows our project retention setting, up to 14 months. Crashlytics keeps crash reports for up to 90 days. We complete deletion requests within 30 days.
Security
Local data sits in the app's private storage. Data sent to Firebase is encrypted in transit with TLS. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We share it with Google as a service provider for the Firebase features above, and when the law requires it.
Children
CentBase is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child sent us data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we change the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
