Transaction badges
Small badges next to a transaction's name tell you things about it at a glance, its lifecycle status and whether it has extra content attached. This page shows every badge and what it means. (Colors adapt to light and dark mode.)
TL;DR
A transaction row shows a status pill beneath the title when the transaction is Placeholder or Pending, and an inline verified checkmark after the title when it is Reconciled (cleared is the normal, badge-free state). Additional circular icons mark a note, a receipt/attachment, a one-off scheduled transaction, or a recurring one. Multiple badges can appear together after the name.
Status badges
Only transactions that need attention show a status pill beneath the title, while reconciled transactions show a quiet verified checkmark beside the name:
| Badge | Shown when | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Status is Placeholder | Planned for the future, counts for nothing yet | |
| Status is Pending | Happened but hasn't officially cleared, counts | |
| Status is Reconciled | Matched to your bank statement, counts, and shows an inline verified checkmark after the title |
A transaction with Cleared status shows no badge at all, cleared is the everyday default, so rows stay clean.
See Transaction statuses for the full lifecycle.
The circular content badges
Next to the title, CentBase adds small circular icons when a transaction carries extra content or behavior:
| Badge | Shown when | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| The transaction has a note | Extra details saved with the transaction | |
| The transaction has an attachment | A receipt or screenshot is attached | |
| It's a one-off scheduled transaction | Will post once, on its scheduled date | |
| It's a recurring scheduled transaction | Repeats on a schedule (frequency + count or forever) |
Scheduled vs. Recurring, what's the difference?
- The clock icon marks a one-shot schedule, a single future occurrence.
- The repeat icon marks a repeating schedule. It takes precedence: if a schedule could be both, the repeat icon wins, so you never see the clock on a recurring item.
These icons also appear on templates and scheduled transactions in the same way, the badge follows the item wherever it's listed.
How they combine
Inline icons sit right after the transaction name, and any Pending or Placeholder status pill sits directly beneath the title. For example:
Groceries 📝withPENDINGunderneath, a pending transaction with a note.Rent · 🔁, a repeating scheduled transaction (the schedule itself).Insurance · 📎, a cleared transaction with a receipt attached and nothing else out of the ordinary.
If a row has no badge at all, no trailing space is reserved and the title simply ends.
Where to find it: Transactions tab → a row shows inline badges after the name and a status pill beneath it when pending or placeholder.
Summary
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Plan only, doesn't count yet | |
| Happened, still processing, counts | |
| Verified against your statement | |
| Has a saved note | |
| Has a receipt/attachment | |
| One-off scheduled transaction | |
| Repeating scheduled transaction |
Sample use cases
- Spotting what still needs a receipt. Look for items with the attachment badge missing and add one from the transaction details.
- Catching an un-posted bill. A scheduled future date shows the clock (or repeat) badge until the day it fires and becomes a normal transaction.
- Planning vs. reality. Placeholder transactions carry the grey pill, so you instantly see which entries are just plans and which ones already count.
